The Q&A session with:
Director: Christopher ling
Q. What is the purpose of using minimum actors?
A. Director : Economic downturn. Actually if we read the script thoroughly. Matt Cameron the playwright state clearly that the eight characters have to be played by two actors only. In the last scene there was a little bit of a twist that we are not exactly seeing four characters but only two characters. Ray was playing the other three characters and Sylvie playing the other three characters. You are not exactly seeing one person playing only one character but one person playing three characters. Its actually a play within a play. There's a bit of deception.
Q. How do you manage the props so that you won't be confuse?
A. For this particular production we have our own stage manager. They are responsible of all the props that are hanging around and flying around. As we rehearse the play very often you will know that the prop will end up at a particular place and you must keep tracking it all the time. Even though you only see two chairs but what if its on the other side so that's why we need to keep track of the props.

actor: alex chua
actress: davina Goh
Q. How can you project your voice so well?
A. Alex Chua: Diaphragm.
Davina Goh: Yes diaphragm. Voice from our stomach. You can achieve it with a lot of practices.
Q. Which character the actor and actress likes to act as the most?
A. Alex Chua : He likes to act as Sunny Jim.
Davina Goh : She likes to act as Veronica, as she could freely act and connect with Veronica's personality.
Q. Which character is the hardest/ to play?
A. Alex Chua : Ray. It would have to be Ray. He is the most complex. As every other character has to be in him, they are all parts of him in addition of facing his very horrible situation with his wife and the game that they play. The other character are simple while Ray lives in this world full of deceit, lies and games. So, Ray would be the most challenging to play.
Davina Goh : Yes. I guess i'll go with that as well. Sylvie is quite difficult to play, because all the other three characters depends on her too. We already agreed on beforehand that the other three character that we are playing each are not four separate people. For me, its Sylvie's anguish that pushes the story along. Keeping Sylvie's anguish in tact I guess is quite difficult because she is all over the place but there has to be some kind of structure to the chaos.
Q. About the domestic violent part do you practice it or do it spontaneously?
A. Alex Chua : We had choreographed the basic movements of the fight. But it does mutate from time to time. But the general action of the fight remains the same. I grab her hair and force her to the floor, I pushed the phone away on the table and slam her face on the table. Those are the basic ingredients for the fight. But it depends on what happened in the scene on how we react to each other the intensity of the choreography changes.
Davina Goh : It's evolving even as we are staging it. Because tonight was like that didn't happened last night.
