Scriptwriting Session with Mr. Na'a Murad
A Little Bit About Mr. Na'a Murad
Na'a Murad is an actor who loves to read. From what we read about him, he had a large collection of books in the family's house. The thousands of books in their mini library belongs to his brother, his sister and himself. We believed that he produced lively scripts because of his reading habits. Besides that, he also likes comics. He prefers reading non-fiction books especially sciene books.
As a reader, he believes that reading may help us to survive from living without television, video games and internet. He said that we may keep in touch with the language and other means information through reading.

What we did in his class?!
Mr. Na'a Murad spent his one-hour and half with us which started at 1.30pm until 3.00pm. That time, the warm up session we did was different from the two classes we had before. We were divided into two groups. Group one started their warming up by walking at the area set while the other group sat at the other side and watched. At first, Mr. Na'a wanted us to walk around and tried not to knock someone who walked around you. The second round was we needed to follow someone without his or her knowing it. During the third round, we were directed to follow two persons without they knowing it and tried to stand in an equal triangle with them. If the triangle was not equal in length of each side, we moved to adjust it. We thought that was the most interesting part because not everyone in the area knew who actually followed them. Some of us got angry when someone moved, probably because any movement may distracted their triangle with their partners. "Hey, don't move!", that's the only dialogue used to warn the others. Next, we proceeded with the second group and the same things happened.
The triangle was for?
It helps us in adjusting our position with the other two actors during the acting. We can make sure that both of them can hear what we say and see what we do. Balance distance is important for that purpose.
The Script
A script through our spontaneous action can be produced when we observed someone's action and come out with our own words to explain what he or she did. We also added some elements in order to keep the script interesting such as funny facial expression, slow motion movement or even make a faster move. In this class, Mr. Na'a showed us how to produced a short but meaningful script. The script was simple because it did not explain the action we need to do and it was up to us to act in our own way. It was fun and we were free to show our creativity.
Then, we were split into a few groups consists of 4 to 5 students in a group. We did our skit and the script was given. So, it was time to act people! In the group of 4 to 5, we discussed what to act and the character for each actor.
When we acted out the script given, we had different manipulation towards it. Obviously, every group had different stories to tell based on the same script.
The script that we used was as below:
"What are you doing?"
"It's obvious!"
"Yeah,"
"Oh My God!!!"
"It's not my fault!"
"Me too..."
After we finishied our skit, we took some pictures with Mr. Na'a Murad for our documentation. We bid them farewell and left for IPGKDRI at 3.30pm.
